Lithium is a mood stabilizer produced by Alhavi Pharmaceutical.
It is primarily used in the treatment and prevention of bipolar disorder (manic-depressive illness) by regulating neurotransmitter activity in the brain and reducing extreme mood swings.
Lithium also decreases the risk of suicide in patients with bipolar disorder and can enhance the effects of antidepressants in treatment-resistant depression.
Therapy requires close medical supervision with regular monitoring of blood lithium levels and potential side effects.
