Melijent-M 500/2.5 is an oral combination tablet containing **Linagliptin (a DPP-4 inhibitor)** and **Metformin (a biguanide)**, produced by Alhavi Pharmaceutical.
It is used to control blood glucose levels in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
The complementary mechanisms of the two ingredients improve glycemic control — Linagliptin enhances insulin secretion and reduces hepatic glucose production, while Metformin decreases glucose synthesis in the liver and improves insulin sensitivity.
Melijent-M is available in two strengths: **2.5/500 mg** and **2.5/1000 mg** tablets.

Melijent-M is indicated for:
• Control of blood glucose levels in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus requiring combination therapy with Linagliptin and Metformin
• Can be used as an adjunct to diet and exercise, alone or in combination with other antidiabetic medications
The dual mechanism provides complementary glycemic control by improving insulin response and reducing hepatic glucose output.
• Recommended dose: **2.5/500 mg twice daily**
• Take **with or after meals** to minimize gastrointestinal side effects caused by Metformin
• Swallow tablets whole with water — do not crush or chew
• Continue diet and exercise as recommended by your physician
• Use under medical supervision with regular monitoring of blood glucose and renal function
